Bénédicte Jacquemin is Research Director at INSERM. She holds a medical degree, a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, and a PhD in Life Sciences about air pollution health effects on Asthma. She joined INSERM in 2009 and did a 7 years long sabbatical at the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology CREAL (now ISGlobal) in Barcelona, before returning to France in 2018 to take up a position at the Institute for Research Institute on on Environmental and Occupational Health in Rennes. Her research focuses on the impact of environmental factors on health, with particular emphasis on asthma and rhinitis, but also cancer, fertility and cognition. She has led, or is currently leading, nine research projects and is a partner in several others at both the national and European levels, all with a strong environmental dimension. She supervises a dynamic research team and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, including pioneering studies on the effects of air pollution on adult asthma and rhinitis.
